(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've never had any chickens nor ever lived on a farm. I hope to get chickens as soon as I move into my new house/land within a couple of months

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

None...yet...lol

(3) What breeds do you have?

I know I want Naked Necks. I also want to breed them to get a rainbow assortment of eggs. Thinking of breeding them with Cream Legbars, Black Copper Marans, and Welsummers, but am open to ideas.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I'm looking forward to beginning my homestead with the gateway fowl lol

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to garden, crochet, play video games, and listen to audiobooks.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We're moving out to the country soon to finally start a homestead and we know NOTHING lol

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I found BYC through googling about Naked Necks and chickens in general. I definitely saw a lot of information that I know will come in handy soon.

Be sure you put the cart before the horse, meaning, build the coop, then the chickens! We have tons of great coop ideas in our Coop forum.

I am surprised you didn't mention silkie showgirls (naked necks). They can be so ugly they're cute! I don't raise them but keep getting one occassionally in the hatching eggs I buy. I grow them up and sell them.
