I'm so old I Remember when:

The world has changed
Old fashioned humor is seen as boring.
My generation's humor is seen as offensive.
Today's kids think Skibidi Toilet is humor.
Sad times we live in
Your son too?! It doesn't get better, my 13 year old says it. Skibidi Toilet has actually been banned at the middle school, if a kid says it, they get a detention

I don't get why people like this stuff. It's garbage. WHY!?!?!?!?!?!
Why do they like everything else they like?

I don't even get why you young ones like to state something in all caps with ten exclamation points after...(not saying you personally do this but I've noticed it among the teenagers that frequent BYC).

For me, the reason I do that is to hopefully get the tone of my voice across. It's very hard to get inflection of voice across the internet, hence why emojis and stuff exist as well.

I have a tendency to look for I Love Lucy reruns when I need a laugh. They made a movie called The Long Long Trailer that is pretty funny. Clean humor. A lot of people today probably wouldn't be able to sit through it since it is devoid of blood, violence, cursing and nudity. Then again, some people cannot appreciate good old fashioned humor.
Gunsmoke was a favorite in our household. Being low on the hierarchy family chain, I had to watch what all those older than me chose.
I loved Lucy, enjoyed Gunsmoke, the Big Valley, and Bonanza, later on MASH, after school everyday it was Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and the Beverly Hillbillies, and on the weekends my favs were Hee Haw on Saturday night and The Wonderful World of Disney followed (preceded?) by Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom after the weekly bath on Sunday. I miss a lot of shows. Starting in the 90's there's a number of things you couldn't pay me to watch. Now a days, I don't even own a television.

Alright, y'all. Go on a mental journey with me. I used to live in beautiful Southern Tier of NY and had an aunt and uncle down in Joisey we'd visit a couple times a year. So now these drone sightings the last few weeks have caught my interest. Today I heard on a news podcast a statement from NJ's newly elected Senator Andy Kim. (who knows where I'm going with this?)
That name sounds familiar like I remember - but can't quite put my finger on it - there's was a very enjoyable song way back when.. . I looked it up and sure enough, it's one of those songs that immediately takes you back. So with just one further ado - and that is, I looked up a picture of the Senator and no way is it the same Andy Kim. Here now for your nostalgic pleasure all the way from our 51st state (bwahaha) of Canada is the original Andy Kim.

I don't know. Would you want your 10 to 13-yo running around the neighborhood at 4:30 in the morning delivering papers nowadays? By themselves? I wouldn't. I don't fault the kids for being lazy, I fault what society has become. It's not safe now. And most parents work, who wants to get up at 4 am to help their kid with a paper route when they have to be at work at 8 a.m.
In my day there was no issue with Free Range kids. They would have had to arrest all the parents in the neighborhood.
