I'm so old I Remember when:

Dyeing would be the correct form of the verb as ... would it be an intransitive verb? If you wanted to use it that way, for example:

I was dyeing my hair once a month... or whatever.
A verb like that makes me wonder how many people come home from the hairdresser with dead hair in the US, England and other English speaking countries.

In our country these words are not similar. Doodgaan is dying. And verven is dyeing. Verven is also painting.
But I suppose you cant say “I painted my hair” unless you wanted to make it look like a Warholl, Vermeer, Picasso or Matisse. 🎨🖌️

Closest I ever did to dying dye my hair was a red colour washing when I was in my teens.

Later on I used natural Henna ‘dye’. My hair never ended up like straw. Bc my own color is brown it only gave a red shade/hue.
The cheapest way to dye your hair and to give your hair a treat.
€9,- / 1 kilo / 3 years.

Changed the recipe last year (50% Cassia) with more grey hare coming in.

Edit: Im alive and kicking. Correct spelling = I dye my hair / i dyed my hair.
Interesting that you bothered to correct someone else's post but made mistakes in yours

Well, given the way the younger( and some older people) want to color their hair wild colors you might as well call it painting. I went the other way. God decided I would go bald…….which I did. So, knowing the hair was leaving I decided to help it go and shaved my head. Been shaving the dome everyday for a good thirty or so years now.

Someone once said it's not what's on your head but what's in it that's important. I don't know who said it but I agree.

I always said that when my hair went completely grey I would add a purple streak.
Unfortunately it remains stubbornly dull mouse brown except at the front.
