in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

I watch the weather daily. Other news does not interest me.
I know Phoenix had 113°F high. You are not far behind.
It's record-breaking heat and it's not expected to cool off until late October. People are literally having mental breakdowns over it.

To make it through six months of summer, you rely on an endpoint to focus on and look forward to. When Mother Nature moves that endpoint it can be difficult to adjust.

We'd better get some decent snow this winter after all this!

Here it was already -8 C one night. Then it was warm for a while during the day, and now it has become cold, though without frost. But it is constantly raining coldly. As usual, I do not have time and find it difficult to make a decision - on the one hand, I would need to remove all the plants from the greenhouses to the compost bin (tomatoes, peppers), some of the plants will go to feed the goats (cucumbers, squash), but I do not know whether to wait a little longer for the last cucumbers to grow and the tomatoes to ripen, or to collect the tomatoes green and leave them to ripen at home in a dark box.
It's just that my ducks and geese are walking outside during the day, and the weather is noticeably damp and cold. I should send them to the greenhouses, but I can't do that because there are still plants there - and tomato tops are poisonous.
In general, I couldn't think of anything better than to wait a couple more days and do other things in the meantime. In particular, I need to clean up the old manure from one room.
I manage to preserve some of the vegetables.

Yesterday I was bored of preserving cucumbers only in jars, so I decided to put the last small cucumbers in a bottle :)

These are probably the last cucumbers here this year. Usually they are the last to be picked here in September, only I get to October because I have fairly tall and large greenhouses. But it is cold outside and the cucumbers stop growing. I don't know, I will soon be clearing the tops, maybe I will find some more cucumbers, but I doubt there will be many. Soon the greenhouses will become a place for ducks to walk because it is cold outside.
