I would check with your local animal control. Coturnix quail aren't regulated in most places, though, other than a maximum number that you can have.Oh wow! Do you think I'll get busted by the policies in my area? They don't allow chicken roosters, but I live in an area where we hear coyotes howl and hawks screech practically every minute.
Not likely. I had one hatch a quail egg, but only because she was on her own eggs the whole time too. She likely wouldn't have cared for the quail chick if it had been the only thing to hatch because it was too slow compared to chicken chicksI do own chickens though! I could have my little bantam hatch the quail! Could that work?
