Incubating and hatching

It’s possible it could be a genetic or nutritional with the parents. I’m not sure. What are you feeding the parents?

I’d be inclined to think the temperature is too low but if your thermometers are calibrated (did you test them yourself?) that should not be the problem.
I have tested the thermometers myself with the temperature inside my house and it was correct for both as well! The parents are eating a local mix of layer feed and scratch feed

I’m really not sure what the problem is.
I might try feeding something besides layer feed if this continues to be a problem. I’ve heard layer feed isn’t the best for breeding stock. I switched my ducks to Purina duck pellets.

Other than that, you can experiment with humidity to see what works best for you.

What is your humidity the first 21 days? Where are the eggs from? What type of ducks?
The first 21 days it’s roughly around 60-65% sometimes goes a little higher depending on water, then the last 3 days it’s about 70-75% my first group it was lower humidity from 40-55% max they are runner ducks (sorry I’m just seeing this lol I’m unsure if you answered this question yourself with the above comment)

I will definitely be looking into different food then! Especially the purina duck pellets!❤️ It said it was good for egg production which is why i guess i assumed it would be good for them during this period!

One possibility is that the eggs are not loosing enough moisture during incubation. This would cause the air sacks to not be large enough for the hatching progress. I personally would keep the humidity between 30-50 the first 21 days.
If all the eggs are from the same duck genetics could also be an issue.
I am unsure if they are from the same genetics as we were given these guys. We did however open one egg after it had passed from the first group and its head and beak looked slightly deformed like it was kind of angled could that be a genetics issue or could that happen to any duck?
