Ok so we put quail eggs in the incubator on the 12th and I read that on the 15th day you are supposed to increase the humidity to 65%. Is this true and what else should I do? This is my first time hatching quail so I have no experience. I candles them a few days ago and threw out the ones that didn’t have anything in them. Do I need to candle them again? Thanks

I am no expert but based on what I learned, increasing humidity will help to ease the hatching process, preventing the chicks from sticking to the shell.
Make sure to turn the egg turner off as well, I did turn mine at 15th day but it was too late in my case because the chicks were trying to hatch already.

So do you think I need to candle the eggs again or just see if they hatch? I’m very skeptical about this

Most likely they will start hatching at day 16th, they will poke a hole in the shell first and after several hours they will hatch, after the chicks hatched leave them in the incubator for few hours to dry up before putting them in the brooder, only open the incubator when you have to.

Ok thanks

You welcome, I am at day 16th now and so far I got 8 hatched..
What kind of incubator are you using? does it have an egg turner? if so you may turn it off at day 14th to be safe.

I’m not near the incubator right now to see what kind I have but it does have an egg turner and it turns every four hours

Ok so just to make clear before I go and do anything, today is day 15 of incubation. I need to take the egg turner out and increase the humidity to 65%. And I don’t need to do anything else?
