I am new to this group, but not new to raising poultry, however I’m newish to incubators and what’s available, what’s good, what’s better, what’s best?!

I was given an old GQF cabinet Incubator and Hatcher. They have worked well, had many hatched out of them this spring, roughly 80%. I just bought the GQF 1500 digital professional and 1550 digital hatcher for my larger hatching I do, I also have a Hova Beta Genesis 1588 but have never actually used it, it’s still brand new. I have done some research and everyone swears by the Lyons roll X incubator, says they even can hatch rocks haha 😉 but to my knowledge they are hard to come by and aren’t even made anymore.

So my question is...what is the go to incubator these days if I was trying to hatch expensive parrot eggs, exotic poultry, or other expensive rare type eggs?

How many eggs? Brinseas are pretty good, but overpriced IMO. The Nurture Right 360 is pretty popular, I have one and everything viable I've put in it has hatched. However, it only fits 22 eggs. But it is very reliable and reasonably priced. You could get a few of them. Whatever you get, be sure to check the inside temp with a calibrated thermometer.

I was hoping to find something that would hold about 24-48 eggs but like you said I could always get a couple. My old GQF cabinet that has eggs in it now has like 5 different thermometers in it because I don’t trust any of them 😂

Have you calibrated them? Then you'll know they're accurate.

Yes, but I still don’t...when I’m incubating eggs I turn into this super paranoid parent that just expects everything to go wrong even though I’ve been hatching chicks for 3 months out of the same incubator my duck eggs are in. I have some silver mallard eggs coming that I can’t afford to really mess around with and need something I can 100% trust.
