I've been told to use distilled water in my incubator, is this true?

I use tap water

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!!

Using distilled keeps the incubator from getting deposits. Especially if you have an automatic humidity pump in there, you wouldn't want deposits building up in that like they do in our coffee pot.

We have well water so I give the chicks bottled water for their first week and acclimate them to the hard water.
