Indian corn OK for chickens?

I was wondering if chickens can eat cracked indian corn? I planted some this year and got to wondering if it would be OK to give some to my chickens? If they CAN eat it I'd like to go ahead and plant some extra for them. They already get regular field corn but I thought it'd be a great use for the ornamental corn too instead of just tossing it after holiday time. I'd hate to be wasting it if they could be eating it!

That helped a lot! Thanks! I always crack their corn, I've got an antique corn cracker that runs off the pto on one of the tractors! It's lots of fun!
