Change of plans

Damn he's hard to get picks of, lol, but here we go. Pay no attention to the marks on his comb, Fiona hen pecks him all the time, she just walks up and starts "grooming" his comb🤦‍♀️ @BlueTheBrahma

Type, carriage and table merits: 32/40
Size and quality: 11/20
Colour and markings: 9/15
Head: 9/10
Condition: 8/10
Legs and feet: 5/5
———————————————
Overall: 74/100

Type: fantastic type, good long body, low tail, wide at rear. The only issue I see is that the head and neck are too large compared to the body. He’d get more marks for an even fuller breast.

Size and quality: basically the same point I made above.

Colour: I’m not an expert with wheatens but he looks good to me. An even richer shoulder would be ideal.

Head: very good Marans head. Strong beak, round wattles, medium, tidy comb.

Condition: yes the pecking takes away from this, I’m sure he’s healthy otherwise because you care for your chooks.

Legs: pretty much perfect.

A very good score, one of the highest I’ve judged. Great potential here I can’t wait to see future generations of you plan to breed them to SOP.

Thank you so much! He's still young so hopefully there's some room for a little thickening up. I have the first set of eggs from him and my Wheaten ladies due to hatch the 9th 😊 My psycho serial broody Onyx is tending to half of them😉
