INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I said I wouldn't set in my crappy incubator again but stupid egg auction got me again!! lol! Making a go at it with NN and added my new partridge silkie eggs! Do a little comparison on success with shipped vs home eggs. My hatch rate in this thing has always been less than 50% which is just not acceptable! I would like to make a go of the homemade coolabator but Really want to buy a more don't have to do anything type! They are just so expensive. I expect my tax $ to be deposited today, haven't checked yet but I still struggle with the idea! Plus I look at the brinsea advance EX but at $650 I am tempted to buy a cabinet inc/hatcher combo. That way I could do much larger batches! Then I think using my styro as a hatcher could work too to help doing more back to back. I just want something awesome! Hahaha!

I did do two dozen shipped eggs and about a dozen of my own last year and had only 4 from each dozen hatch! Which to hatch any from the shipped I was happy about. Also considering it was my first time ever with shipped eggs. But I should be able to hatch more than 4 out of a dozen of my own! Crazy!!

The T-shirts for the 2015 chicken fest should be going on sale soon, within the next week or 2. More information to come soon as well.

Up next is what other item would you like to see this year? A long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, a tote bag, now is the time to provide input as it looks like there might be 2 items for sale this year in support of the 2015 chicken fest.
I'm new to raising chickens and I seen this post I think having a hoodie would be great

Welcome to the thread. Feel free to jump in anytime.

Also be sure to check out the Indiana Chickenfest 2015 thread as well. We have one coming up soon. I am (barb s) everyone on their preferred date for it. The deadline for polling is Feb. 28th.

What Chickenfest is; A bunch of really great people from all over Indiana, as well as a few other states, get together for a meet and greet, exchange ideas, tips, etc. We hope to have a few demonstrations on FF (fermenting feed), raising meal worms for chickens, also plan to have a buy, trade/swap, and there will be lots of great food.

So if interested please send me a pm with your preferred date/month by the 28th. And watch both threads for updates on Chickenfest.

So sharing a silly video my 15 yr old made! Cracks me up every time I watch it! Goofy kids and the things technology allows now! How fun. It wouldn't let me watch it on my phone? Just my PC. So not sure it will work for mobile viewers or not?? First time ever posting something on YouTube! Lol

My monster of an egg was cooked yesterday for breakfast and used to make 5 breakfast sandwiches! Lol! It was just a regular old egg. No egg in egg or multiple yolks. Just a bigin'
