Injured chickes dog attack!

UPDATE: Woohoo! 2 weeks after the dog attack, just got back from the fishing trip and I have some good news, all are still alive, and wait for it......... THE PARALIZED HEN CAN WALK, he balance is off or she just doesn't have the control to hold herself up well so she falls forward alot but I'm shure it will get better! Realy I could probably put the two brown ones with the flock but I'm going to wait a little longer for the one to grow its feathers back and the others vent to seal up or go back to normal. It had a scab over its vent that I pealed off and it was pretty healed and dident bleed but the top of its vent lip is still separated/ not filled in. The one with the big gash in its side is starting to scab up so I will probably stop cleaing it and just use neosporin. I will do one more update whenever I put them all back into the coop. I posted like 4 threads on this and I'm just going to copy and paste to each of them so if you follow more than one you don't need to read the other ones.

How are your injured hens doing, have they recovered completely?
Sorry for the late reply haven't been on the site in awhile the paralyzed hen recovered but walked like a duck the others wound is almost closed up I left them in the sick bay with a pen half in the barn half outside put the 2 brown ones back in. BUT NOW THE PARALIZED ONE IS DEAD dog attacked again today and was only in the coop for a minute and killed 3 more. I will have a new thread you can follow. Same owner different dog.

Ok so how much do you all think it will cost to get then stitched by a vet and can I do it myself if its going to cost too much on has a flap of skin hanging off its vent it's not that deep. The others have punctures on their backs and one has a minor wound on its vent. Also what should I do about the owners of the dog they are college kids but the college in our town is very expensive to go to should I try to get some compensation. He did beat on the dog a little bit so that's good I think they had him in an electric fence and his collar wasn't shocking him or somthing but they should still be responsible RIP my two buff orpington and my 11 week old EE.

If you need veterinary care for your chicks, I would certainly request that they pay for any expenses related to this incident. It was their dog who killed and injured your chickens and they should make sure the other 4 are taken care of.

I have 3 dogs and if any of mine injured another neighbors animals I'd offer help in any way I can.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for the injuries to your babies!!

Haha I think you forgot to look at the date unless you are referring to the incident that happend today you can check out the other thread about the incident today here, they all had a full recovery with no vet help and all injuries today there is nothing the vet can do they are limping and had feathers plucked I think they will heal on their own they might just be sour. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/dog-attack-again-same-owner.1394370/#post-22885362

If anyone is still watching this thread the dog attacked again! This time the nebors chickens, there property is closer than ours and they were free ranging.(they got their chickens 2 weeks ago) It was the same dog that killed mine the second attack that was only in the run for 2 minutes. IT KILLED EVERY CHICKEN THEY HAD, they think it killed 2 on friday(dident catch it but after the second attack that's what they think happend), then they got 8 more that were going to lay in a couple of weeks and it killed them too. He said he was putting the dog down yesterday so no more worries for me, now I'm glad that neighbor helped me out the second attack or most of my flock would have been killed. I was going to tell them about the dogs but I heard they were getting rid of them then they weren't, and they told us they were moving, but I should have warned them.

How awful. I thought they had gotten rid of this dog already.
That's what they kept telling us. About a month ago they said it was going to a new home. Guess that never happend, now it will be going to a new home..... in the ground. And if they dont follow through then we will get it to a new home ourselves, I'm shure the neighbor would have shot it if he knew it was a repeat offender. He is trying to find some new chcikens to get in a week or 2 after he follows up with the neighbor.
