It looks like it’s crop where food and water are stored after eating. How does it feel? It looks like the others may have been pecking at it. Watch to see if it goes down and refills. Is the chick acting normally, and eating and drinking?

It almost looks like a hole in the side of her neck, it’s hard to get a pic, she’s acting fine but it looks like bloody, my husband said it smells a little? Its not where her crop is it’s up top near her wing

I would clean it twice a day with Hibiclens or Betadine. Then apply some antibiotic ointment. Is there any leakage from it or pus? Is food leaking from it?

No food leaking from it, no pus or drainage at all- just some brown crust around it- that’s how we noticed it because we saw the side of her neck looked discolored. Should I separate her out? I don’t know if she’s being pecked and that the issue?

I picked her up again to check on her and clean it and it does have a very strong fermented kind of smell and I’m now wondering if it is her crop?

Nothing was visibly leaking even after I cleaned- but just a very strong smell and appearing to have come out of no where since I didn’t notice this at all earlier

Make sure that she is eating and drinking. Locate her crop and check other’s crops as well. Does her crop feel full and soft like other’s? Keep it clean. I will check back in the morning.

I didn’t notice her crop being any different from anyone else’s, felt soft, I isolated her for now I don’t want the others to peck or hurt her and I cleaned her with hibbiclens and put on some antibiotic ointment I will make sure she’s eating and drinking before I go to bed. Thank you so so so much for you like time!
