Hi All! Question for you. How long would you let an internally pipped Chinese gosling attempt hatching itself before intervening. I believe this little one pipped early Tuesday morning. Last night, I gave it a safety hole for breathing. I could see and hear it was tapping. Today is Day 30 of incubation. Still no external pip of its own and I can occasionally hear it cheeping. TIA!

I would leave it be for 3 days. It can take several days for a goose egg to hatch. 30 is the average amount of days total, but it can take up to 35.

Thank you. As long as we didn’t think it was shrink wrapped. Any warning signs I should keep an eye out for?

Any update?! Based on what I've read from other people, leaving it be is the best, especially after you've given it the safety hole. Let me know if it pipped externally. I'm about to set my first geese eggs and I'm super nervous

My baby hatched just fine on its own. Feisty little stinker too. Thank you!!
