yeah I give them a lot of food ,, I m really happy with them I worked very hard to achieve this chunky type , now I can focus on darkning the eggs ,

they are moder Australian marans hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
they are actually my F2 from CLB X Marans , I m selecting for for blue eggs layer with different body colour to cross back to CLB .creating other varieties of CLB , I need to do a lot back crossing ,it is OK I m working with dominant colored genes they will alway show up ,
they are some big solid girls in there ,

Here’s 2 egg laying BCM showing some off colored eyes. I think the bottom one is the top’s mother. All 5 marans laid an egg yesterday. I’ve got 2 that lay a consistently dark egg. The others have faded to the lighter speckled color you see.

Finally got some new photos of Napoleon. These ones show off his improved type very well, and show the natural tail angle.

this is Loki (his sire) at a similar age. Loki was actually taller than Napoleon is now, but see how much skinner his breast is (because the thighs stick out way further) and how bad the tail is.

I guess I doomed him to being short but naming him Napoleon . He’s for some growing left in him really.

It’s actually the same tree in the way of the photos, just a lot taller now.
