International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

The Cornish cross came out tender and juicy throughout the entire bird. The Marans had more and better flavor but it was pretty chewy if I’m being honest. The white meat sections were quite good just tougher than I’m used to and the meat to bone ratio was definitely a lot more bone and less meat than I’m used to seeing. I believe this is an adjustment than I could get used to

The dark meat was extremely chewy and not something I care to have again. I believe it would have been better to cook it in a crockpot at 8 months old. I’m in no way upset about that. I learned an important thing today. I’ll try butchering the next one younger. I currently have 7 12 week old Marans cross cockerel and they can’t all stay.

Hi! I am looking to purchase some very high quality FBCM chicks or hatching eggs.

I’ve been searching and keep finding that breeders everyone suggests have retired and sold flocks.

So who is that breeds to SOP -and- ships?
