Hi friends, my name is Abby and this is my first year owning backyard chickens. I’ve had a vegetable garden for a few years now and decided I finally wanted to get some hens as the perfect companion to my garden. I bought 4 pullets from Rural King on Memorial Day Weekend 2024 - 3 Brahma (2 White, 1 Buff) and 1 New Hampshire and got the girls set up in their new home. So far it’s just very fun to watch them and see how they interact with one another. When I’m not working, I’m involved my local church and enjoy playing my violin and guitar when I get the chance. My boyfriend and I are looking at taking the next step in our relationship soon and he already knows that the chickens are only the beginning to what I hope is a homestead/farm one day. Looking forward to advice from other chicken owners and any tips and tricks!
