(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Had chickens a couple of years ago but a dog broke into the coop and killed them all. Very sad day.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I will have 12 the 1st weekend of December.

(3) What breeds do you have? They are silkies

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Chicken TV and EGGS!!!!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, hunting

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Two dogs, Two cats. State employee trying to make ends meet.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D FB and apparently I had been invited by a friend.
 
Loose, unattended dogs and almost any livestock don't usually mix well, unfortunately. You have my sympathy for having experienced that! I am glad you have some Silkies now.

I haven't filled any tags in a couple or few years because lately I've been filling the freezer with lamb and trading for beef, but I do enjoy it as well!

He found the ONLY part of the coop that was just chicken wire (from previous house owner), the rest was chain link. It was a massacre.

The fence is finally fixed and we're adding livestock fence over the top to dissuade hawks (just in case).
