Hello,
I joined backyard chickens about a year ago when we got our first chicks, but have never introduced myself. We just got more babies so I thought I'd take the time now. Our first round we got 2 golden comets, 2 barred rock and 2 black sex link. Unfortunately we lost one of the black sex links to a hawk so now we only allow them out of their run when we are outside with them. They do have a pretty cozy 30' x 30' run so I don't feel to terrible that they aren't out of it all day. This year we went back for more babies and got 1 golden comet, 1 barred rock, 1 black sex link, 2 light brahmas, and 2 dark brahmas. They are about 3 weeks old now and my daughters says they are looking "ratchity" sense they are in an awkward stage of their feathers growing in. This new crew is also more skittish than the group last year, so we are working on that. A few of them had pasty butt, I was so thankful for this community so I could remove it safely. We now have an even dozen and my husband says that we are done! We'll see....
