(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had chickens for about 9 years. I got my first chicken when a rooster flew up onto my family's patio and decided to stay. He was a beautiful silver duckwing bantam phoenix. His great grandson is my current roo.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Twenty... on paper...

(3) What breeds do you have?

Australorp, black sexlink, barred rock, buff orpington, and phoenix barnyard mixes.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

They are my little friends. They scream when I go outside and swarm me like I'm a rock star. They're also very cuddly and full of personality. They're like giant budgie birds. And gotta love those eggs.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I used to be more into fashion, raising english budgies, and aqua culture. I mostly play video games, read (mainly about medicine), and work on small electronics now.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We have a turtle and also a cat. My name is a reference to how my roos scream. They screamin' boys.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found BYC through google years ago and have lurked this entire time. The available information has been invaluable when caring for birds and has given me a surface level understanding of veterinary medicine.

Welcome. I would love to talk with you about veterinary medicine, specifically about chickens. I have a particular interest in controlling opportunistic bacteria. Keeping my eye on a company in Russia that is making a feed addictive from vegetable oil derivatives, which thus far keeps 98% of harmful bacteria away
