is 4' fence enough to confine pekin ducks

i want to pen off an area to range them, i've never raised ducks before, will they fly over 4'?

Pekins cant fly coz they are too heavy. Mine manage to get their fat butts off the ground about an inch when they flap their wings and run...but they definatly DO NOT FLY

A 4 foot fence will keep them in as long as there isnt a female on the other side... My drake used to climb over the wire to try to get at my Indian Runenrs - he would flap his wings and get his claws into the wire to get get himself over- but he was extremely determined

Aside from that- 4 foot will keep them in - but not predators out so you may have to ensure they still have some safety from whatever animals or birds you may have in your area.

pekins cannot fly it will definatly contain them but it may not keep out preditors

I have a pathetic 3' fence that would fall over if one sneezed. It keeps mine in but they are pretty lazy and do not try to do a whole lot. I have to put their food at one corner and the pools at the other a good ways from the coop so they have to get up and walk. They really are not even interested in chasing minnows around the pool! They don't feel fat and are only about a year old. I really encourage them to go free range with the others but they hate it!
