Is bruised meat ok to eat?

I processed one of my ducks today. She had a leg injury and was in pain. Upon plucking the injured side I noticed buising of lett back and severe bruising to left thigh and leg. I am wondering if I the bruised meat is ok to eat. IF NOT do I trim it off or is bird ruined

It should be fine to eat. In commercial procedures it would be cut off but that is only for aesthetic reasons

If I end up with bruised meat, I trim off the bruised/discolored portion and toss it. The rest of the meat is fine.

I called a meat store & was told to poke brised area with knife tip and soak it in cold salt water. Told that will leach most of it out. Thanx for the replies! OBTW I found a bone in pelvis broken.

FYI Bruised meat isn't kosher; on the flip side, neither is duck.

I've had store bought chicken with some small bruised areas, we've just eaten them.
