Is chicken eggs eatable after Suprelorin Implant wears off?
My Isa Brown hen had her 1st Suprelorin Implants at 3 years of age. It wore off after 5 months, she was back laying massive 6 eggs a week.
August 2024 She got 2nd Suprelorin Implants, today being October 2024 she is back laying egg again. The Suprelorin Implants effectiveness has worn off after 2 months.
My hen is now almost 4 years of age.
The Suprelorin Implants is no longer effective on her.
I am thinking that if she is only lay 4 eggs or less a week, then it is not excessive and this might save her from reproductive issues.
I am not sure what other option available to stop her egg laying. I can only hope that being almost 4 years of age, she might slow down on egg production.
I don’t want to feed her eggs as I found that the more protein she has the larger are her eggs.
My question is that can I eat those eggs that she is laying now? Are there eggs holding off period?
Thank you.
