Is it common for a young hen to go broody?

hi, I have 10 month old light Sussex, last night she didn't sleep on the perch with the others but instead slept in one of the nesting boxes.
Today she sat in the nesting box for hours, we honestly thought she was having trouble laying. She is normally quite timid and docile, but pecked aggressively when I tried to retrieve the eggs she was sitting on, 3 in total, 1 hers and 2 from her roommates.
After a while she came out and joined the rest of the flock, is she going broody? I thought only older hens did this, but am probably wrong.
We don't have a Cockerell.

I would wait to see if she goes back into the nest box again today and tonight. She may have just been laying late in the evening and spent the night in there. You say she's layed so she's not full on broody, yet.

I've had multiple hens that spend the night in the nest box and part or most of the next day, but they end up laying and then are back to normal and roosting with the flock.

5 out of my 6 pullets went broody last fall, so it's not unheard of.
This... I have multiple broody pullets at the moment, and one with 8 littles.
It seems to spread like a lovely virus !!🤣
