Is It Okay To Marker On Hatching Eggs?

I asked my daughter to mark the eggs that we set.
They hatched fine.

Thanks, I usually try and use a pencil or water color pencil, but I have used a marker in the past, too. Mostly if other people were collecting eggs and I didn't want them to grab hatching ones.
