I have 3 duck eggs. I'm sure they are duck eggs(pekin duck eggs) they are bigger than chicken eggs with a harder shell and now it is day 20. the weird thing is that one of the eggs is wobbling a little and after I turned the egg I put the egg horizontal and straight. I looked in the incubator and the egg turned in a diagonal way and i saw it turn a little too but now it's almost touching the other egg! Why is this! is it possible to move the egg before they are supposed to hatch if it is pretty close to the hatch date? I don't get why the egg is moving already!

Its probabaly the chick getting into position they have to turn inside the egg to prepare for hatching... Also if your temps have fluctuated at all that can effect hatch day..

All eggs with living chicks inside preparing to hatch can move. They are moving inside, getting into position programmed into them. It is a great deal of work to crack the shell and begin the process. I would be worried if I saw no movement in my eggs. If you listen carefully you should be able to hear some peeps.

Is it ok that i keep on turning them till after day 25 though because duck eggs take 28 days. I just turned them but the egg is still moving a little so it didn't hurt the egg. It is day 21 so could the duckling be getting ready to hatch in a couple of days? There are no chirps yet though. I did put the egg to my ear when I was turning them. Nothing but I know it's a live because of the egg moving.

If the eggs is moving that much I would leave it alone. Something big is going on in there and you may interrupt whatever nature is doing.

Eggs do not hatch early regardless of what you might read or hear.

However eggs can begin incubation fora few days and we don't know it as we collect them and store them for a later incubation and then start back up making us think that are hatching early when they really aren't.

If the egg is moving that much I wouldn't touch it again. leave it be and let mother nature do her thing.

Its not moving that much! But the egg moves sometimes a little except when I woke up and the egg was laying vertical instead of horizontal like I left it, well I guess the bird moved the egg but when I watch the egg the egg doesn't move all the time and there are no chirps yet. They should chirp when ready to hatch, right?
