My goose is relatively quiet does the little chatter and only honks when anyone thinks about going near her coop. My gander though, oof. He likes to wind himself up to a full-blown honk attack where it's like, dude whattttt is going on?!
Love those noises, especially if they do it while munching on some grass.
Appropriate for suburban neighborhoods? Probably not. As others have said, they're not noisy all the time, but they're definitely not quiet creatures. Of course, my ducks can be rather loud, too...
