Is my duck sick?

Hello!

I purchased 2 runner ducklings in April 2024. This is my first winter with ducks ever. One of my runners started looking rather ruffled and disheveled about early-December and it doesn’t look to be getting better. The attached photos are from today (one shows both my runners together for comparison). I’m unsure if something is wrong, or if he is maybe molting? He has been spending a little more time on his own, and moving a little slower, but is still social with his brother and seems to be eating and drinking normal. My Google searches don’t seem to be providing any helpful info and I don’t have access to other duck owners near me or an avian vet to consult. Is anyone able to recognize what is happening based off this info and my photos? Any help is greatly appreciated!

if it shows lethargy or has green-yellow diaria then text back.

Looks like he's getting ready to moult. They can get really rough-looking by the time they go through their moult.

If he's eating, drinking, and defecating normally I wouldn't be overly worried.
