Is this a guinea egg!?

If there is an egg in a nest, to a guinea hen it means that it must be a good nest site. It is the reason that I seed desirable nest sites with fake eggs. It was really amusing the first time I had guineas find a turkey nest with an egg in it. They acted amazed by the size of the egg and were very attracted to it. They did examine it very closely and kept going back for second looks.
Oh that sounds fun! This was my first year with the guineas, so their first time laying. All 8 girls started laying in one nest outdoors, which was quite obvious in location. Then they all went back to the nest to look at it, and they made the funniest little calls. It sounded to me like they were saying, “Wow! Those ARE a lot of eggs!!!” So cute and entertaining!

This is hilarious. I love these birds.

Welll now I found a nest in the Guineas coop!!! That’s EXACTLY where I want them to lay, so I moved the eggs from the trough to the coop nest and hopefully they’ll continue laying there!
