There are 5 or 6 of these located on the heads of 2 out of my 6 turkeys. I have not searched the rest of their bodies yet. They are attached to the skin like a tick but so tiny compared to wood ticks. What are they and what do I do?

I am posting this in Emergencies, Diseases and Cures too, incase it is not specific to turkeys.

Thanks

Hard to say for sure. Pictures aren't the best but yea I would say it was a tick. Looks like it's nice and full too.

If you guys have deer ticks there, they are really tiny, about as big as a poppy seed. If you just have wood ticks, they go through a few stages as they grow and start out on critters like mice.

Deer ticks are really tiny, some as small as a poppy seed. You have to use a magnifying glass to see that they are actually ticks.
