I have a hen who is limping and her foot is a little swollen. I put her in Epsom salt bath for about half an hour but didn't loosen it much. Any advice? Could it be something other than bumblefoot?

Looks to be bumble, but almost like the core has already fallen out. I have had great success with healing bumbles with prid drawing salve.

You will need:

Prid drawing salve (Tractor supply sells a canister that will last you a life time for about $20)
Gauze pads or rolls
Self adhering medical bandage tape

Clean foot well and dry
Put a dab of prid on the bumble
Place gauze on the bumble
Wrap the foot in self-adhering bandage tape*
*BE CAREFUL not to wrap too tightly as that will cut off circulation to the foot and the foot will die.

Leave this on for 2 days at a time and repeat as necessary until the core comes out.

After the core is out, I will usually put some plain triple antibiotic in place of the prid and follow the same procedure until the scab has healed/fallen off.

I use 2in self-adhering medial bandage but find that I have to fold it over on some runs.

I use a crossing pattern between the toes and across the pad before taking the bandage up the leg to secure. Again, it doesn't have to be tight, just secure enough to keep the prid in place.

Good luck.
