We LOVE our chickens. But we have a joke here: "They have tiny chicken brains!" Gentle and slow movements are best. By my own experience and advice from others, ignore aggressive behavior but show patience and gentleness... lol, and use treats. We've had skittish chicks that really warmed up as they matured. As for your roo, I agree with the previous advice. But, as young as he is, you may still be able to win him over. I'd think you'll be able to tell in the next couple of months, if you work at it daily. I suggest reading some articles posted on how to raise family-friendly roosters. Best of luck!
