I can’t tell if my caramel brahmas have scaly leg mites/something else wrong or if this is what brahmas’ feet are supposed to look like.

Those are scaley leg mites. You would want to treat it now before it worsens. With my feather footed chickens I found it easier to trim the feathers off their feet while treating them. I bathed their feet in warm water and brushed gently with a toothbrush to get the mite dirt out. You can then use something to suffocate the mites, like coconut oil or Vaseline. This needs to be applied about twice a day for two to three weeks.

fortunately, it doesn’t look like any of my normal footed chickens have them
thank you so much! do i need to clean the coop out?
also, they cuddle and sit on my lap and stuff, are these mites dangerous to humans?

I have been told you should give the bedding a change and treat the roosts, I just replaced mine every few months. I would also give the others a few coats of Vaseline just as a prevention :)
