Hi everyone, I wasn’t sure where to put this and didn’t get any responses on Reddit. There are some birds outside that like to hang out in my trees, but their droppings aren’t the typical white droppings that I usually see with birds. The droppings are usually red with some white, and I’m wondering whether anyone has seen this before with wild little birds. I usually see this all over the ground under my tree. I don’t know if I’m extra paranoid right now because of the avian flu, but I wouldn’t want any wild sick birds in my trees or near my yard while I’m trying to protect my small backyard flock in their run. So, I just wanted to figure out what these droppings mean. If anyone can help, thank you!!

American robins, eastern bluebirds, and other members of the thrush family are going crazy for the holly berries in my yard right now and leaving the same droppings. You’re watching seed distribution at work :)

You don’t want the droppings to accumulate especially near your flock. But as far as the color and appearance of these, nothing to fear.

Thanks all! Learn something new everyday. I have never seen this before, time to research. I’m happy it’s nothing to worry about!
