Our incubator is really old, like antique old, and when we started it up it seemed to be running fine...until we put the eggs in. Over the first night apparently the temp climbed to possibly near 110, DH discovered it when he got up the following morning. We figured we had cooked all the eggs, but left them in there in case there were cool spots. I also added 5 fresh eggs as the temp had seemed to stable out again. This is only my second attempt at hatching and last year nothing developed, we are unsure of the cause of last years failure as there may have been a problem with the eggs we were given. So I am super excited to see development both in the fresh eggs and a few of the “cooked” ones!!!!

So after candling all the eggs tonight(instead of spot checking 2-3/day with turning) it seems that 20% survived being cooked so far. And 100% of the fresh added eggs have development as well!! This is way more exciting than last year when nothing changed all 21 days! (We were too stubborn to give up on them, none exploded and they even didn’t stink when we cracked them open to see if there had been any development at all-there wasn’t any)
Now let’s see how many make it!:fl:pop:jumpy
