Hey all!

Yesterday, as I was walking out of the coop I saw a green poop (pic bellow) it is not a regular green poop, it was shiny and dark. So this had me thinking about parisites, I figured, since I have never treated them before that this is quite possible. How should I treat them? With what? I was thinking ivermectin? What are the side effects and what are (if there is worms) what kind of worm is it? Thank you!

That dropping is half cecal and half regular I think. The dark green can be from not eating much, or eating a lot of greens in the diet. The brown cecal poop is from the 2 cecal pouches, located between the small and large intestines, where food is fermented. Cecal poops occur a couple of times a day. I would not give any medication.

Oh ok! Yay!! Do you have an article or something that can help me tell what poops are disease or worm related?

Droppings can vary in color and consistency throughout the day. Occasionally you may see roundworms or more rarely, tapeworm segments in the droppings. But normally, you cannot see worm eggs in poop except under a microscope. The chicken might show symptoms of worms, but many of those symptoms can be from other illnesses. Here are some droppings with possible reasons:
