Only in the UK, I think. I've never seen it. It would work, I think, and appears to be used for that purpose.

The product I'm familiar with is Permethrin. It's a pyrethrin, but modified so that it doesn't break down as quickly as the pyrethrins found in nature. It works really well. It's also not a disinfectant, just an insect-killer.

I have never heard of jeyes fluid either. I also use permethrin if I have any mite or lice problems with my birds.

We use Jeyes Fluid every time we do a full coop clean (correctly diluted down) and I have read on many UK poultry sites that it will kill mites and other insects.

It's pretty strong stuff. However, i'd still advise buying some louse/mite powder to pop onto your birds and in the bedding/nest boxes of the coop.

If you have mites or not, Jeyes Fluid is recommended by loads of people as a disinfectant. Just make sure it's completely dry before you put any birds where it has been.
