My chicken coop is literally right next to my house. If I'm not mistaken weasels will not travel around us right? Especially if it's a house full of people and four dogs?

My dealings with weasels are limited, but have dealt with them multiple times in multiple locations. The were most frequent in low lying spots that had occasional water flow or along pathway that had a strip of taller vegetation nearby. Those appear to be areas they travel routinely. Yet, you can still spot one once in a great while going across a plowed open field. The presence buildings probably does not register with the buildings. They do seem to avoid areas with lots of cat or dog activity.

A mink, which is a member of the weasel family, came into one of my coops that's only 15 feet from my house, and killed three hens. I heard the ruckus and went out after it with a three-tined cultivator. It out ran me, and returned an hour later. A went out with a shovel. Also missed it when it escaped into a hay shed and out through a hole in the back. Nope, I don't think it minded me or the house at all.
