I will be getting kikiriki eggs tomorrow to begin hatching. My last 12, were from a 4H organization, only 2 made it to lockdown, only 1 hatched. I did know going in they are a low hatch rate. I have found a very reputable breeder for the new ones. I have asked for advice from them and they hatch them the same as all their other chicks, just let them sit point side down 12-24 hours after shipping. Others say not to turn them the 1st 72hrs, don’t candle till day 10🤦🏻‍♀️ I have recently very successfully hatched out seramas and silkies with only 1 each not hatching so I am very familiar with the hatching process

I recently purchased 16+ Kikiriki eggs and only one hatched and is dying. I really want to hatch some for my daughter but worried about them not making it. It crushed her this time. What do you recommend and what type of incubator is good.

Good luck for a successful incubation/hatch. Shipped eggs are always a crap shoot.
🙋‍♀️ Yep, I can attest to that! I've ordered 6 times from 4 different breeders this year and the average hatch rate is about 20%.

When I did that last year, hatch rate was 70%

The USPS is who I blame. Twice eggs got lost, some I shipped out and one batch shipped to me.

My first incubator was an NR360. I liked it a lot, but the humidity was difficult to stabilize.

I've now got three Brinsea 56EXs with auto humidity.

I would try find one that at least has auto turning and external water adding so you don't have to open the incubator every day.

Kebonnix is what many of us recommend for those who want to hatch a dozen or less at a time. Here's a thread about this one: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/kebonnix-12-egg-incubator-thread.1568172/#post-26620070
