Kudraridge here! We have a mixed flock of 23 mostly Americana. How can I stop hens from eating eggs?

How can I get hens to stop eating their eggs? 23 in the flock of mostly Easter Eggers so who knows which one.

If you put some fake eggs in the nest box or some golf balls they normal give up pecking eggs after awhile of trying to crack those

Hi, egg eating can become a real problem because once one starts doing it, the others tend to imitate. Checking the nest often to gather eggs promptly can help, as can rollaway nesting boxes.

What's their diet like including treats?
Often egg eating starts because of either a protein deficiency or a calcium deficiency. Easiest way to address both is to feed a feed with 20% protein, provide oyster shell on the side and cut out treats for a while (and make sure treats are no more than 10% of their diet when you do reintroduce them). You can also invest in a rollaway nest box which will roll the eggs out of their reach after they lay them
