who has some really big/tall light brahma? Not necessarily as big as that video that went viral around a year ago, but some significantly and noticeably large/tall light brahma roosters?

My hens are pretty big but my 2 roosters aren’t that huge. Would love to get some new blood in my flock - with genetics for much bigger roosters.

I've got a nice big brahma rooster - he's my biggest chicken and not anywhere close to done filling out since they continue to grow until two years old. I'm looking forward to nice babies in the spring.

However, that video that went around showing the 'huge' brahma used forced perspective to make him seem a lot bigger than he actually was. It wasn't actually a HUGE rooster, but rather a coop that was actually too small for him, and a tiny pop door he could barely squeeze through.

Maybe I need to be more patient. Got 8 chicks (straight run) and all ended up being females. They are about 9 months now and pretty big. Bigger than my cream legbar rooster or any of my other hens.

Got some more chicks a few months later in hopes of getting some males this time and have 2 roosters from that group. They are only 7 months old. I guess since they continue to grow for around 2 years I just need to give them more time to fill out and get taller. They haven’t even started crowing yet so they are definitely still immature.

Did you get them from a breeder or a hatchery? My rooster is about six months old and already bigger than all my other chickens, even the roosters.

So you're not sure if the parent stock are good breeder quality parents or hatchery stock? I ask because hatchery stock will never be as large as real brahmas are. I've had hatchery brahmas, and they're nowhere near as large as a real, nice quality brahma is. You may not end up with big brahmas depending on what the parent stock was like.

I’m really more curious about other people’s light brahma roosters, not my own. How big they are and if they have/plan to have chicks for sale. I’m interested in improving my flock.

Well, chances are I'll be selling eggs in the spring, so if you're interested at that time let me know, and I'd be happy to weigh my rooster for you then :)

I have a large 5 month old cockerel who is going to be a big boy! He’s still really scrawny but by far the tallest bird I have. He’s Hatchery stock, from McMurray but the light hens I got with him are also fairly large. I have a good sized 3-yr old Rhode Island Red roo, and this guy is going to be significantly larger than him once he matures. I’ll get some better pics to post today.
