They should start crowing soon. My Easter egger rooster started at 8 weeks and my 2 random bantam roosters also started right at 8 weeks. Expecting him to crow any morning now. Thank you for your input!

Not necessarily. I had one wait till like 7 months. He was an Orpington too. So it depends. I’ve had other birds crow early like yours. But not every bird will.

Wow. I have 2 roosters that are almost 4 months old that have not started to crow. One is NN, and one is spitzenhaubin mix.

I had 2 LO roosters, they took until 6 months to mate, and crowing came one month after that. The also take longer to lay eggs- LO hens.

These are my first Orpington babies. I inherited my buffs when they were over a year old and already laying. Thank you for that information!!

Just curious what your LO’s ended up being. I have one that looks like your first pic and I’m worried she may be a he. We can’t have roosters in my city either so I’m praying it’s a girl. Lol

Both were roosters! Had to get rid of them both unfortunately.
