My Girlfriend and I are new to raising ducks and looking for some advice. We keep three girls, two full sized breeds, and one call duck. They are all currently fed mazuri maintenance feed and have been doing really well on it. Our 2 bigger ducks have started laying healthy eggs and I was looking into switching over to a layers feed for the warmer months coming up. My concern is our call duck who wont lay nearly as much if im not mistaken. Would it be ok to switch to a layers feed for the warmer half of the year or would it be better to continue the maintenance diet and supplement calcium.

Thanks!

Agree. Also, our ducks LOVE chicken egg shells, and their own egg shells sent back to them crushed. (I cook the shells after they are cracked/used to reduce chance of germs.)

How's it going with your ducks? I have a flock of female standards and recently adopted two call ducks, one with wry neck who is doing much better. I find the size difference challenging and regret a little bit taking on the tiny ones. How do you scale up and down for the feeders and waterers? What about differing energy levels? I find these little gals to just be so different than my big girls. Maybe it's because I'm having to pay special attention to the one girl with the neck issue - she is also not waterproof, so I worry about her getting wet.
