Does anyone else have issue with leaking 1 and 3 gallon waterers from Little Giant? Mine are not even lasting a year. I need to outfit 5 breeding pens with waterers and feeders. Any other brands or specific types of waterers you like?

These are the ones I currently have.

I've had pretty good luck with these:

My 3.5 lasted a couple years, and I think it was more my handling that caused it to crack. With the heavier drinkers they do need to be on level ground due to the weight of the water.
These do look pretty sturdy compared to the thin ones from Little Giant. The waterers are level. I had one drench a chick brooder twice. I know the brooder is very level. And I try and make the other pens as level as possible. I’ve had one empty on un level ground before. That’s my fault. This is different. It’s like it refills after the birds drinking and just keeps going. But it will be fine one day after filling and spill out the next.

So you can see how long I've had these, the big one I broke last summer. I blame myself because filling it all the way makes it super heavy and I wasn't setting it level on the ground and eventually I cracked the green basin. It still works until you lift it, but kind of a pain now. The small ones are great.

I've read reviews on these with people complaining that they don't fit the basins. They do it's just a tight fit so it doesn't leak. I have another which I'm not sure is the same "Harris Farms" or "Free Range" brand and it's super easy to open close which means easy to loose it with a turn of your wrist and spill it all over your leg.

Check for cracks in the upper water container or in the screw on base. You can weld plastic but it usually begins breaking when the UV light has degraded the plastic. There are plenty of UV inhibitors but some are quite toxic like lead.

Might try some teflon tape on the male threads. Put it on thick and be sure you wind in the correct direction although it might wind off anyway when you unscrew it to fill.

I’ll see if I can order a few from my feed store. They can usually get things ordered for me and keep prices decent.

I did a quick glance but they are due for a scrub anyway so I’ll double check for cracks.

So I've also got two of these. I only recommend them if you're on a budget because they're super affordable by comparison. However they don't lock secure at all. For an example with a mere twist of your wrist you might loose the basin from the reservoir.

They also tend to leak if not sitting level, but for 7 bucks hard to beat.
