Crossing the Road
Asking questions like what? Care info or general small talk about them? Either way i dont think its wrong to feel how you feel. Being forced into conversation with strangers is uncomfortable. And if they're asking for a bunch of info, it's not your responsibility to educate them.I know that owning chickens for years means that we know quite a bit of info but I'm starting to get annoyed when strangers in my town keep asking me questions about them once they find out I own them.
I don't want to be rude about it so I just tell them I did research and that it's very important to research on owning them so that they don't end up as a predator's meal or end up dying of an issue that was preventable.
Is it wrong that I'm like this
It took about a year for my nearest neighbour to realise I had ducks, and then she just pulled me over to ask whether they were real or if the quacks she heard were from a dog toy or something-
She was just curious and excited by the idea of pet ducks, and she never brought it up again. She was nice!
I find it so uncomfortable when strangers approach and start talking to me, but I'm always glad when it's just friendly small talk lol.
