Funny thing, we never planned on owning ducks at all

Alright I gotta be honest here. Because of how hot my bedroom has been getting at night, I've been barely using the heating pad for the ducklings. I noticed if I leave it on at night even on low, they've been panting despite having a spot to move to off it. Since I usually fall asleep around 3 or 4am, I always check them to make sure they're doing okay

The whole craziness with buying out the feed stores near me is still ongoing. I have been talking with a WH breeder but I may have to be put on a waitlist for females.

The Serama hen finally went broody

One of mine, Scary Spice, has gone pre-broody. Not looking to hatch bantam eggs right now, so I’ve been taking them.
Hopefully the LFs go broody soon…

She was broody for 3 days before she decided it wasn't for her
Kind of funny because she went broody too much last year with the other hens.

I gotta figure out getting 2 more ducklings because I just found one of them dead
I don't know what happened because they were fine 20 minutes ago when I checked on them
The other one is freaking out and wanting to stay near me
What's the minimum time frame that the duckling can be alone until I get more?

I am so sorry. They can tolerate some alone time, but I'd try to get the other a companion soon.
