Liege Fighter hens as good as roos?

Although I have a wonderfully helpful family of crows nearby, my yard still seems to receive routine visits from hawks. I keep only bantam hens, so they're a bite-sized snack that's especially tempting. For this reason, I've never felt comfortable letting my girls free-range. I've heard that Liege Fighter roosters can help protect against hawks, but a roo that big would absolutely destroy my small girls while trying to fulfill his rooster duties. So I'm wondering if hens of the same breed are as aggressive with predators? Would a liege fighter hen make just as good a guard-bird as a rooster? I know the answer is probably no, but just thought I'd ask. Seeing as she'd absolutely be the largest bird in my flock, I thought that maybe she might have more masculine "alpha" tendencies...and in this particular case, it would be a good thing.

Are there any other breeds that might help?

Well I don’t know about that… I have heard of people having guard geese.. they squawk normally when there’s danger

Hi, yeah. I've thought about other guard alternatives like geese. I don't particularly like geese since they seem to be pretty aggressive towards people from what I've seen. They also seem to honk all the time for no reason, no matter what. And if that's the case, I don't think my hens would think a warning sound would be any different than everyday noise.

Do NOT put Liege hens with bantams. They are much more aggressive than the amiable roosters. Just this week I had a Liege hen drag a australorp by the neck a good 50 yards and thats a full sized bird. Liege roosters are like Lassie. Liege hens are more like Cujo

My goose is super friendly like a giant toddler. She will not protect my flock she will run. But as far as hawks go she keeps them from the ducks, but in quite the opposite way people would think she gets very quiet lays down flat and tilts her head to the sky my ducks recognize this behavior and go ly under her wings and tuck there heads they lay completey still until the goose decides its safe then he honks and they all get up. I dont see this working with chickens as the communicate very differently
