Limping duck

Hello BYC! So today I walked out to check on my ducks and noticed one of them was limping very badly. She’s putting almost no weight on her foot. I checked her over and didn’t see any broken toes, legs or bumble foot either. I don’t know what could be wrong with her. She has food and water during the day but doesn’t get water at night time because they spill it and then ruin their coop. I don’t know what could be causing this. Maybe she just hurt herself a little bit. I’m gonna see how it pans out in the next four days. If it doesn’t get better, I’m gonna take her to the vet.

Any ideas on how to help her? Thank you!

So she got better and was not limping anymore. A few days ago, the limp came back and she was doing the same thing holding her foot up. Been a few days and it seems to be getting better, but I’m confused why it came back. I hope your duck gets better!

I’m really hoping she continues to get better soon. I keep my duck in the cage to make sure she walks less because I think the hard ground might have hurt her foot. Also，I made a temporary shoe (it’s really ugly) for her injured foot. hope this will help relieve the pain. Perhaps we should also consider buying some professional duck shoes online. Let’s keep each other updated on their progress!

All right. I hope your duck is doing better. Yesterday I gave her a day in the coop instead of outside and today it seems to be gone. I hope your duck gets better soon!
