I'm sorry before I registered I read a post about isolating her which we have already done after an extensive search for any possible bite marks or breaks. Thankfully my sons lab is a trained duck dog with a very soft mouth but our poor Ginger ran a LONG distance. To my question, vitamin B. Is this just human vitamin ground up? How much? How often? How long? Can we eat her eggs while on vitamin supplement? Again sorry to start a new string for this. Injury was two nights ago and she is now standing on her leg but nursing in the bathroom in a small crate.

Yes, you can just put a tablet of B complex dissolved in the water, or ground up in the feed every day. ThiamineB1 and riboflavinB2 are good for legs and feet problems. B complex contains all of the B vitamins, and is good for chicks too. It won't overdose them because it is water soluble (they just pee off the excess in their droppings.)

Thank you so much. One more question... Will the flock remember her after being separated for a few days or week and will I need to do a slow introduction period like with the young girls when we added them? I have two girls separated out. One injured and one in another pen at vet recommendation for an infection following lice who will need to be separate until antibiotics out out of her system so we don't get her eggs mixed. Yes we are aggressively treating and monitoring the rest of our girls.

I separate my broody hens to break them for 5 days, and they come back in okay with not much notice. If your coop is large enough, you can separate within the coop with a dog or cat cage, and that goes much better.

Hi, sorry if this is elsewhere. I've read a lot of posts checking - do you mean it is OK to give vitamin B complex to my hens every day/each day indefinitely?
My hen is limping a little; started two days ago. No swelling, no red spots, no brown or black spots, but not wanting to put much weight so I want to begin with the B vitamin regiment but unsure of the duration of treatment?
Thanks for helping

Yes, it is fine. B Complex vitamins are water soluble, so you can give them pretty safely in the water or ground up in the feed. Any excess in the body will be excreted by the kidneys.
